Why MINDFUL WITH MEL?

SAFE SPACE

If your teen or tween has been more anxious lately, pulling away from friends, or reacting with bigger emotions than usual, you might be wondering how to help.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Therapy gives your child a place to talk openly with a supportive adult who understands what they are going through and knows how to help them work through it.

REAL TALK

Teens and tweens can tell right away when an adult is talking at them instead of actually listening to them.

Mel focuses on building real conversations and real trust. She listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, and helps teens slow things down so they can make sense of what they are feeling and what is going on in their lives.

CONFIDENCE BOOST

When teens start to understand their emotions and feel heard, things begin to shift.

Over time, therapy helps them build confidence and respond to challenges with more calm and clarity.

Parents often start to notice small but meaningful changes, like their teen speaking up more, handling stressful moments differently, or feeling less overwhelmed by everyday situations.

Let’s talk about what your teen may be going through.

  • If your teen or tween seems more worried than usual, avoiding things they used to handle, or getting overwhelmed easily, anxiety may be playing a role. Therapy helps them understand what they’re feeling and learn ways to manage it so it doesn’t control their day-to-day life.

  • Tweens and teens often experience emotions more intensely than they know how to handle. In sessions, they learn how to slow things down, understand what they’re feeling, and find healthier ways to express those emotions.

  • School pressure can build quickly with academic demands and social dynamics. Sessions give them space to talk through their day and develop healthier ways to handle that stress.

  • Friendships can feel especially complicated during these years. With Mel, they have space to talk through conflicts, social pressures, and feelings of exclusion while learning healthier ways to navigate relationships.

  • As teens grow more independent, tensions at home can sometimes increase. Therapy gives them a place to sort through those frustrations, understand what they’re feeling, and learn healthier ways to communicate with the people around them.

Looking for A therapist who actually understands what your teen is going through?

I’m Here to help

Hi! I’m Melissa Tract, a therapist for teens and tweens.

LCSW | MSW | B.A. Psych

I bring a candid style to sessions — honesty with heart.

Working with tweens and teens means meeting them where they are. This stage of life can be full of big emotions, social pressures, and moments that feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a space where your child feels understood, supported, and comfortable opening up at their own pace.

With my background in theatre, sessions may include creativity, humor, and expressive activities alongside conversation. For many, this makes therapy feel more natural and less like another place where they’re being told what to do.

I’m here to support your child as they learn to understand themselves, handle challenges more confidently, and navigate the ups and downs of growing up.

I’d love the chance to meet you both!
